Topics of the DKG expert committee 7 "History of ceramics" (DKG FA 7) are all technical ceramics from a historical point of view. Developments of cultural and historical significance are also considered in this context.

The DKG FA 7 meets annually for a meeting as well as a tour. Selected meeting places of the committee are historically significant sites for the history of ceramics. The topics of the committee meetings can be based on important dates in the history of ceramic techniques. An example of this is the 250th anniversary of the invention of the first Thuringian porcelain in 2010.

The meetings will feature presentations on the dating of historic porcelain, changes in extraction technology, or the development of refractory materials and similar topics.
