In DKG expert committee 3 "Process engineering" (DKG FA 3), knowledge is exchanged on preparation, processing and product development from or with the aid of ceramic materials.

The DKG FA 3 is the platform for the exchange of existing knowledge on topics such as spray granulation, pressure slip casting, pressing technologies, material preparation, spray drying, properties of ceramic suspensions, preparation, in-process testing methods, production of composite materials, characterization of ceramic materials, and simulation and modeling of manufacturing processes.

The DKG FA 3 holds two meetings a year and the traditional annual fall symposium at the beginning of December. At this symposium, the Process Engineering Committee presents the "cfi Award" of the Göller publishing house.

Members of DKG FA 3 form the working group "Granulation and Granule Processing", of the same name as the annual advanced training seminar of the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS in Dresden. Furthermore, the working group "Statistical Design of Experiments in Process Engineering" is part of the committee. This working group organizes an annual symposium, which takes place at the IKTS in Dresden. Also under the auspices of the expert committee is the DKG training seminar "Tape Casting".
